Wildlife Victoria is aware that many people and animals have been affected by recent bushfires and we are doing what we can to assist.
The Department of Environment, Land, Water and Planning (DELWP) is leading the rescue of injured wildlife. Wildlife rescuers are not permitted to enter fire grounds unless they have completed the appropriate training and their assistance has been especially requested by DELWP.
Wildlife Victoria’s Bushfire Appeal has been set up to accept monetary donations to assist wildlife carers and shelters that have been directly affected by the fires, helping them to restore vital animal enclosures and equipment to care for wildlife in need in the tough months ahead. Please click ‘donate’ above to support this important appeal.
We are not accepting non-monetary donations right now due to the logistical challenges of getting it to the wildlife shelters and animals that need it most.
Please be patient with us as we respond to animals in need as we are permitted to do so.
If you have questions about the wildlife bushfire response or to report wildlife seriously injured in the fires, please contact the Incident Control Centre on (03) 9767 3800. For all other wildlife emergencies, please contact us on (03) 8400 7300 or report the animal online using the ‘report’ option above.
