Organisation type

Hisses to Purrs is a small not-for-profit cat rescue based in southern Adelaide dedicated to working towards lowering the stray cat population around the south. Every cat and kitten in Hisses to Purrs’ care are former street cats and kittens who have been captured, socialised, desexed, microchipped, vaccinated and parasite treated before being placed up for adoption. Hisses to Purrs does not offer rehoming services or take in surrendered pets.

Hisses to Purrs works to educate the public on responsible cat ownership and the importance of cat containment by sharing information and stories about the street cats in the southern suburbs.

Adoption process

Cats and Kittens are put up for adoption after they have had all of their vetwork done. People can then come and meet the kittens before filling out an adoption form and paying a fee that ranges in price from $200 for kittens to $50 for seniors.
