About this organisation

BVCR is a “No Kill” Shelter & receives no gov funding. It rehomes stray, abused and surrendered cats & kittens. All are desexed, microchipped & vaccinated.

Brisbane Valley Cat Rescue was founded to fill a need in the local area for a cat re-homing centre. However due to the high numbers of abandoned and abused cats and kittens arriving at the main shelters run by RSPCA and AWLQld it was found that people desperate to ensure their pets were not euthanised or left to an uncertain future with well meaning family and friends were willing to drive hundreds of klms to bring them to a dedicated no-kill shelter until a permanent home could be found for them.

The shelter does not operate on a first in first out basis and every feline in our care will remain in our care for as long as it takes to find them a permanent, loving home. All cats and kittens adopted from BVCR can be returned at any time, if either they don’t settle in or the new families circumstances change in the future.

All cats and kittens are de-sexed, microchipped, vaccinated and wormed and go to their new homes with a 30 day settling in period.
